Service Description

This is a themed class that will focus on serving ware, casserole dishes, serving platters, and more. Wow your guests with new serving ware that you made in this class! This course is welcoming participants from beginner to intermediate levels which runs for seven weeks and meets once per week on the same day and time for 2.5 hours per session. By enrolling, you support accomplished professional artists who are passionate about sharing their expertise. Each session includes 12 hours of additional open studio time, providing opportunities to practice, refine techniques, and connect with a community of like-minded makers in a relaxed, social environment. Students receive up to 25 pounds of reclaim clay for practice, as well as a new 25-pound bag of clay for final projects. Glazes, firings, and access to a wide range of tools and equipment are included. At the conclusion of the seven-week session, students may have their work fired in oxidation, reduction, or soda kilns at no additional cost. Minimum ages are 16+ with own transportation. Keep in mind these are adult courses. Students producing additional work outside of class may use our Kiln Firing Service at a 10% discount during their active session. In the event of a holiday, scheduled closure, or inclement weather, two extra hours of open studio time will be provided. Additional open studio hours are available for purchase on our website. Open studio time is offered before the morning class, between classes, and on the weekends, students can use open studio time to make up a missed class, practice, trim, or glaze, allowing you to maximize your time with instructors and further develop your skills. To have a successful session, please: • Bring your own basic hand tools, apron, or towel (available for purchase on our website if needed) • Wear comfortable clothing suitable for working with clay • Tie up your long hair and trim your nails Due to the structure of our courses and to minimize confusion, Third Coast Clay does not offer substitute or make-up classes.
