Sierra

Sierra

Sierra earned her BA in Ceramics in 2015 from Union University. In 2016 she moved to Houston with her husband to pursue a ceramics career in Houston. Houston’s rich restaurant scene and support of the arts has been the perfect place to start a fulfilling career producing wholesale dinnerware for restaurants. Sierra also began making wholesale work for retail shops around Houston and the US, as far as Alaska.

When she isn’t filling orders she is creating new work for craft markets in Houston and around central Texas. While in Texas she enjoyed being a board member at ClayHouston (2018-2020) where she planned the annual members Pop Up Market.

Sierra received a full scholarship from Penland in 2019 to attend a session to learn about harvesting and processing wild clays. She has been featured in the juried craft market, CraftHer Market in Austin 3 times. Her work was featured in the ClayHouston Regional Show in 2018 and her Fermenting Crock won Best in Show in the ClayHouston 2019 Members’ show.

Sierra’s dinnerware has been featured in the following restaurants: Theodore Rex, Indigo, Decant, and Degust. You can find a list of her retailers at her website estesceramics.com.
